Automated Static Analysis for Safety-Critical Automotive Firmware
Developing embedded software for modern Electronic Control Units (ECUs), Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and powertrain platforms mandates strict adherence to established coding standards. Unchecked memory dereferences, implicit type conversions, and dynamic pointer allocations introduce severe functional safety vulnerabilities and expand cyberattack surfaces across vehicle controller networks.
MISRA C:2012 Compliance
Enforces mandatory, required, and advisory rules across C source files. Detects dangerous type casting (Rule 11.4), side-effects in expressions (Rule 13.2), and unreachable code sequences to prevent undefined runtime behaviors in microcontrollers.
ISO 26262 ASIL Ratings
Assesses failure modes against Automotive Safety Integrity Levels (ASIL A through ASIL D). Identifies single-point faults, stack overflows, and non-deterministic memory loops to ensure software designs meet target safety goals (HARA).
ISO/SAE 21434 Cybersecurity
Analyzes code paths for threats mapped to automotive cybersecurity standards. Flags buffer overrun risks, improper boundary bounds on CAN/LIN/Ethernet frame handlers, and untrusted payload deserialization vulnerabilities.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the remediation diff engine generate patches?
The audit engine parses C syntax, evaluates non-compliant token structures against MISRA rules, constructs defensive refactorings, and yields a standardized POSIX unified git patch diff that preserves your existing styling and indent conventions.
Does this service replace official static analyzer certifications?
No. This platform operates as an accelerated developer-stage auditor and automated remediation assistant. Final production compliance for ISO 26262 series releases requires validated static analysis suites with qualified tool classifications (TCL).
Privacy Policy & Data Processing Notice
Important Notice for Automotive & Embedded Engineers: This free community deployment operates on Google AI's Free Evaluation Tier. Do not upload proprietary, classified, or NDA-governed production firmware source code.
1. Local Server Architecture (Zero Disk Retention)
Files, header archives, and snippets uploaded to AutoAuditor are extracted entirely in volatile system RAM (`io.BytesIO`) for AST analysis. Our host servers do not write, cache, or store your C/C++ source code to persistent databases or hard disk storage.
2. Third-Party AI Processing & Model Training (Google AI Studio Free Tier)
To generate semantic MISRA violations and unified diff remediations, code snippets are transmitted via encrypted HTTPS to the Google Gemini API.
Because this instance utilizes the Google AI Studio Free Tier, requests are governed by Google's Unpaid Services Terms:
Google may use submitted code snippets and generated outputs to train, improve, and develop machine learning models and related technologies.
Human reviewers may read, annotate, and process de-identified input snippets for quality validation.
Data submitted on the unpaid tier is retained by Google in accordance with their developer service policies.
3. Third-Party Advertising & Cookies (Google AdSense)
We use third-party advertising vendors, including Google, to serve advertisements when you visit our website. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
4. Diagnostic Logs
Standard operational logs (such as IP addresses, browser user-agents, and request timestamps) are transiently recorded solely for infrastructure health, rate limiting, and DDoS prevention.
Our application backend and web services are hosted via Render (Render Services, Inc., USA). When you connect to AutoAuditor:
Network traffic is routed through Render’s edge proxies and encrypted using TLS 1.3.
Standard diagnostic access logs (client IP address, HTTP headers, request timestamps) are transiently processed by Render for network routing, security filtering, and DDoS mitigation.
Source code uploaded in audit requests resides ephemerally in container volatile memory and is never written to persistent databases or persistent block storage.
Terms of Service
Disclaimer of Warranty: The audit reports, remediation suggestions, and unified patches generated by AutoAuditor are provided on an "as-is" basis without warranties of any kind. Automotive embedded software requires rigorous hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) verification and validation.
Limitation of Liability: In no event shall the platform maintainers be held liable for any firmware failures, compilations errors, or compliance non-conformities arising from the application of suggested remediations.
Service Availability & Cold Starts: This community deployment operates on shared cloud infrastructure. Services may experience brief cold-start spin-up delays or transient rate limits during periods of inactivity or high demand. Continuous, real-time availability is not guaranteed.
